【Experience Forging in Tomonoura】
Tomonoura is a popular tourist destination located in the center of the Seto Inland Sea.
Tomonoura became a bustling tideport where many ships waited for the incoming tide due to its location at a tidal divide in the Seto Inland Sea. Between 1603 and 1868, ship blacksmiths who repaired ships and anchors lined the streets. From 1868 through 1926, Tomonoura produced the most anchors in Japan.
