Autumn Maple Festival with Evening llumination
From November 2nd to 19th, 2023, the Sankei-en Autumn Maple Festival will be held. Explore the spacious garden right next to the Hiroshima Airport and enjoy the autumn scenery. On weekends during the event period, there will be special events and evening illumination of the garden.
Sankei-en beautifully represents the diverse landscapes of Hiroshima, featuring mountains, countryside, and the sea in its design. This year marks the 30th anniversary of its opening.
During this year’s Autumn Maple Festival, there will be special events as part of the 30th Anniversary Celebration, including tea ceremonies, a performance by a Living National Treasure of Tsukushi Biwa (November 12), a photography workshop (November 12), kimono dressing experiences (November 10, 11, 12, 17, 18), and evening illumination (November 11, 12, 18, 19, from sunset to 8:00 PM). Near ‘Maple Valley’ within the garden, you can find Japanese pickles, local delicacies, pottery, wooden crafts, and more for sale. If you get hungry while visiting the garden, there will also be udon noodles available at Kangetsu-tei (limited to weekends and holidays during the festival).
