[Seasonal Event: Until the New Year] Experience Dreamination: Witness Hiroshima Peace Boulevard Change into Illumination Avenue

Every year, “Wow, this is amazing!” and “It’s beautiful!” can be heard from groups of travelers passing by Dreamination’s installations. When the illuminations begin, the city of Hiroshima instantly transforms into a radiant spectacle. Visitors of all ages travel to see this popular event, which adds new installations and areas every year.

Around one million light bulbs adorn the main event area (green belt along Hiroshima Peace Boulevard) and other areas of central Hiroshima City, including its downtown shopping districts*, to bring to life Dreamination’s theme of creating a fairytale land. For about a month leading to up Christmas, you can see the city glow with dazzling illuminations.
(*These include Namikidori Street, Kinzadori Street, Chuodori Street, Hondori, various shopping arcade strips in Nakano-tana, Credo in Kita-machi, Shareo in Kamiya-cho, Shirajima Queue Garden, Hiroshima Prefectural Gymnasium, and the Hiroshima Station area).

New installations are introduced every year. Last year, new areas featuring cafes serving sweets and projection mapping were introduced. A few years ago, Dreamination was only seen as a visual spectacle. In recent years, it has evolved to include interactive illuminations. Experience ridable installations and projection mapping displays with hands-on elements. Don’t miss the chance to take photos under walk-through installations.

Event dates: 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., November 17, 2023, to January 3, 2024
Admission: Free
Location: Kojin Shrine and its surroundings
