[View the New Year’s Day Sunrise from Mt. Haigamine in Kure]

Mt. Haigamine stands 737 meters above sea level.
It is more than twice the height of Mt. Hakodate in Hokkaido, one of Japan’s three most famous nightscapes.

It is widely recognized as one of the three greatest night views in the Chugoku and Shikoku regions, and its view is like seeing the city from the heavens: the city lights shine like jewels as the boats bob in Kure’s harbor and the moonlight creates a picturesque scene.
Mr. Haigamine is truly one of the most romantic spots in Kure.

Many locals meet here to see the first sunrise of the year. There is a trail to the top that I recommend during the day, but at night, I recommend driving or using a private vehicle.

Kure Bay Ship Tour

Set sail on a cruise and get an up-close view of mighty ships (about 30 minutes)! The evening cruise that departs at sunset is also highly recommended. *(You may want to use an extension to translate pages in Japanese.)

Anne

Konnichiwa! My name is Anne.
I live in a port town called Kure City, 40 minutes by car from Hiroshima City.
We have many beautiful islands. There is an abundance of seafood and fruits.
The place is surrounded by sea and mountains. You can experience walking on narrow streets, hiking on mountains and even climbing stairs.
Strolling around the town is also enjoyable.
You will surely find your own Seto Inland Sea trip here!
