A trial of a new means of transportation, Green Slow Mobility (GreeSlo), is underway on the scenic island of Miyajima in Hiroshima Prefecture.

Even in areas like the aquarium and Daishoin, which may be distant for pedestrians, individuals, including the elderly, can enjoy leisurely movement through the town at a bicycle-like, relaxed pace. In addition to the popular historical course, there are routes covering areas that are less accessible on foot, providing a fresh experience of coastal and mountain landscapes! The available routes are as follows (please note that course details are subject to change):

  • [Historical Course]: Tour the town center, including Itsukushima Shrine, Daishoin Temple, and Machiya Shopping Street.
  • [Sea Course]: Explore the northeast area of the island and view the sea, including Hoaga-ura Cove and Irihama Beach.
  • [Mountain Course]: Journey through various paths, including the Tatarayama Forest Road.

I've explored approximately 50 countries from their world heritage sites to even local schools, using local public transportation. And interaction with local people have become treasures in my life.

Now, it's my turn!
