[Coming-of-Age-Day Event––Commemorative Photos Gallery in Saijo Sake Brewery Street (Higashi-Hiroshima)]
Saijo Sake Brewery Street flourished during the Edo period as a relay point on an imperial route.
In later periods, thanks to a climate suitable for sake brewing and the bounty of underground water,
the area became a major sake brewing center known as “the Sake Capital Saijo.”
Even today, seven breweries (Kamoizumi, Kamotsuru, Kirei, Saijotsuru, Sanyotsuru, Hakubotan, and Fukubijin) carry on sake brewing using traditional methods. You can enjoy the unique atmosphere of the streets of Saijo, with their red brick chimneys, sea cucumber-like walls, and Saijo latticework.
Take a walk along the Saijo Sake Brewery Street, immerse yourself in its unique atmosphere, and enjoy a part of Japanese sake culture.
On January 8, 2024 (which is a Monday this year and a national holiday), a special set of sake barrels is set up once a year at the Saijo Sake Brewery Street Tourist Information Center. Visitors are welcome to take commemorative photos.

Konnichiwa! My name is Anne.
I live in a port town called Kure City, 40 minutes by car from Hiroshima City.
We have many beautiful islands. There is an abundance of seafood and fruits.
The place is surrounded by sea and mountains. You can experience walking on narrow streets, hiking on mountains and even climbing stairs.
Strolling around the town is also enjoyable.
You will surely find your own Seto Inland Sea trip here!
