【New Year’s Special!】Early Spring Festival at Okayama Korakuen Garden and Okayama Castle, January 1st~3rd, 2024

To celebrate the New Year, Okayama Korakuen Garden and Okayama Castle are offering a host of events including a Japanese tea ceremony, traditional music and stage performances, traditional games, and more. At the garden, the red-crested cranes will be allowed to walk on the lawn on January 1st and 3rd between 11:00 and 14:00 — this is an event that always draws large crowds of photographers, so be sure to bring your camera!

Both the garden and the castle are also offering free admission on January 1st! Even though it’s winter, Korakuen Garden is beautiful and worth visiting year-round, so be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy New Year’s the Okayama way!

The garden and castle grounds are connected with a bridge that runs over the Asahi River, so it’s easy to enjoy both venues.

◆Location: From JR Okayama Station, take the streetcar headed for Higashiyama and get off at the Shiroshita stop; walk for about 10 minutes to either the garden or castle.

◆Fee: Okayama Korakuen Garden 410 / Okayama Castle 400 yen / Combination ticket 640 yen
