After you fall in love with the small town of Onomichi, you’ll probably want to stay longer during your next visit.
Last year, a guesthouse called Onotsute Building was opened by Onomichi Akiya Saisei Project, a local NPO. They welcome visitors staying for medium to long periods.
Once used as an obstetrics and gynecology department, this historical building was renovated to add modern conveniences, private rooms, and communal spaces.
Enjoy interacting with the locals on the first floor, which houses a bookstore and regular pop-up stalls.
If you stay here, you can experience Onomichi like a local.
