[Farmhouse Restaurant Nishino (Yoshina, Takehara)]

Yoshina in Takehara is on a south-facing incline, giving it a mild climate. Once, the potatoes grown there were the most expensive in Japan due to their exceptional quality.
Now, due to the decreasing number of farmers, only a limited quantity is locally distributed.
The desire to highlight the deliciousness of this specialty of Yoshina, Takehara, led to the opening of a restaurant in an old private residence that continues to prioritize local ingredients.

Farmhouse Restaurant Nishino is a renovated eatery where you can savor the flavors of home-cooked meals reminiscent of your grandmother’s cooking.
When you enter the restaurant, you will be greeted by elderly women with their warmest smiles, saying, “Welcome!” in Japanese.

The rice and vegetables are homegrown in Takehara, and the fish are caught locally.
The food is 100% home-cooked, using seasonal vegetables that excel in both taste and nutritional value.
For Japanese guests, it has the nostalgic flavor of home cooking that will make anyone feel at ease.

Their assortment of buffet-style dishes will leave you wondering how you can eat everything.
Lost in thought thinking about my happy problem, I took some side dishes and placed them on my plate.
They have pork miso soup, white rice, seasoned rice, and even curry! Their croquettes are served right off the frier fried, so you can experience the sweetness of the potatoes with multiple senses. Each of these vegetarian dishes is carefully prepared, and thanks to the high-quality water, all the dishes are incredibly delicious.
I heard that just four people prepared all my dishes, and I have nothing but respect for them! I fully experienced the hospitality of these friendly and skilled women!

Specialty! Potato croquettes*
*Yoshina’s potatoes are sweeter than those grown in other regions.
So, children will eat their vegetables, Yoshina croquettes are traditionally served with finely chopped seasonal vegetables.

Anne

Konnichiwa! My name is Anne.
I live in a port town called Kure City, 40 minutes by car from Hiroshima City.
We have many beautiful islands. There is an abundance of seafood and fruits.
The place is surrounded by sea and mountains. You can experience walking on narrow streets, hiking on mountains and even climbing stairs.
Strolling around the town is also enjoyable.
You will surely find your own Seto Inland Sea trip here!
