[1-Day Event: Sat., Feb. 24] Run among Lemon Trees in Setoda (Onomichi)
When the harvest of Setoda’s specialty lemons reaches its peak, the Setoda Lemon Marathon will be held on February 24, 2024, passing through the island’s many lemon trees.
The marathon has introduced a water supply system that eliminates the large amount of waste (water cups and PET bottles) that would normally be generated when running a marathon by making it a rule to carry your own bottle.
The main concept is to run the event with a low environmental impact.
Furthermore, during the marathon, a marché will be held near the event venue, where local producers and brands related to the marathon concept gather.
In addition to the marathon, the town will also host related events such as sightseeing and food experiences in Setoda, which can be enjoyed during the stay in the town.
Enjoy an at-home, clean run while being cheered on by locals and visitors.
They are also recruiting volunteers to be members of the “Lemon Marathon Family” to support the race-day activities.
