【2-Day Event: Oct. 14-15】Bizen Pottery Festival

Visit Imbe in Bizen City, Okayama and pick up some great deals on Bizen Pottery! This pottery festival is held once a year, and is a great opportunity to find some beautiful handmade souvenirs while enjoying the vibe of a traditional pottery town.

I recently visited Imbe and learned that Bizen is one of the oldest pottery kilns in Japan, and is one of the only types of pottery still being made today that is unglazed.

◆Dates & Times: 9:00~17:00 (until 16:00 on the 15th)

◆Location: From JR Okayama Station, take the JR Ako Line to JR Imbe Station; the journey will take about 40 minutes. The festival is in the area around the station and throughout the town.
