Enjoy the best French-style Bakery in Okayama!
If you love French-style croissants and baguettes, Merci Life Organics is the bakery for you! Having opened in June of 2022, this bakery is somewhat new to the Okayama bakery scene but quickly became one of the most popular shops, with branches throughout the city and even in Tokyo.
The main shop is located in the Okayama Culture Zone, behind the Orient Museum of Art, the Prefectural Museum of Art, and Tenjinyama Culture Plaza. The 1st floor shop sells a fantastic selection of croissants and baguettes filled and topped with a variety of ingredients as well as a couple of other types of popular bread items. They offer take-out only, but there is a bench on the deck in front of the store if you want to eat on-site. If you want a sit-down lunch or snack, head up to the 2nd-floor cafe, which serves sandwiches made with croissants in light meal sets.

I'm from the U.S.A., but I've lived longer in Okayama. I'm a sake sommelier, certified by the Sake Sommelier Association in London. I love traveling in Japan, beautifully presented food and desserts, great art, taking photos, hiking and walking, visiting gardens, and spending time with family and friends.
