Enjoy Kurashiki Afternoon Tea
This is a unique gourmet event promoted by Kurashiki City every winter to highlight some of the city’s most elegant cafes, and has been held since 2016. This event allows guests to enjoy a cafe’s specially prepared dessert plate with tea, coffee, or other drinks of their choice while enjoying the company of friends. This year, I decided to try it with my own friends. We chose the picturesque Cafe Cascade, located on the outer edge of the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Area.

I'm from the U.S.A., but I've lived longer in Okayama. I'm a sake sommelier, certified by the Sake Sommelier Association in London. I love traveling in Japan, beautifully presented food and desserts, great art, taking photos, hiking and walking, visiting gardens, and spending time with family and friends.
