Full version will be held this year! Shokei-no-michi Takehara Historic Zone Illumination (10/28-29)
The light-up event featuring local bamboo trees will resume on 10/28 and 10/29
The bamboo tree is a symbol of Takehara City. Local people make candle holders from bamboo to illuminate the streets in the historically preserved area which still retains the atmosphere of the Edo Era (1603-1868). The sight of 6,000 candles emitting gentle light is indescribable. Art made of bamboo is also exhibited at a sake brewery, and you may have an opportunity to listen to live jazz and acoustic guitar concerts.
