In late September, Japan enters a season when fruits like figs, Shine Muscat grapes, and pears are at their best. Hiroshima’s figs and grapes are now commonly found in supermarkets.
In this season, I’d like to introduce you to “Dague,” a parfait and sweet shop where you can enjoy parfaits made with these seasonal fruits.
Their “Glass Parfaits” are meticulously assembled by hand, creating artistic masterpieces unique to Japan. Among them, the “Setouchi Bounty” parfait is inspired by the Seto Inland Sea’s landscape with its sparkling sea, lush nature, and warm sun. The Brûlée features Hiroshima lemon and honey, complementing the refreshing taste of Kawachi late mandarins, often referred to as “Japanese grapefruits.” You can also enjoy a variety of aromatic combinations such as olive, green tea, Earl Grey, and herbs.
